Cohousing opens the door to a wealth of good times, great friends, and amazing new experiences as part of an intentional community. However, it’s a big step for any household to make, and prospective new members need to spend time getting to know us and better understanding the details of what we collectively envision for our new cohousing community!

Learn More

  1. The first step is to look inward and learn more about cohousing in general, and Acorn Creek Community specifically, to see if you might be a good fit.
Questions to ask to see if this might be a good fit…
  2. Learn more about our Cohousing Community:

  1. Learn more about Cohousing: Educate yourself about cohousing!
  1. Assess your financial situation – Can you afford this step? Depending on the ultimate house you choose to build, buying property and building in Acorn Creek Community will likely cost members $400k-$550k.  (NOTE:  We are exploring implementing some Accessory Dwelling Units in our community in order to create some smaller homes that are more affordable.  Zoning will allow them, but certainly at this point it is “to be determined.”)
    • Talk to a realtor about the value of your current house if you have one.
    • Talk to a mortgage broker/personal banker about your loan options. (Hint: use terminology of “house” rather than “cohousing.”

Information Sessions

Our goal is to hold Information Sessions as Explorers surface who want to know more about Acorn Creek Community. If you would like to chat with us and find out how to possibly start your journey as an Explorer, we encourage you to email us or use the contact form.

Hang Out With Us

We expect to use the 2023 through 2023 to meet those who are interested in exploring more about what it means to be part of the Acorn Creek Community.

It’s important to us to find time for explorers to get to know us, and us them. To this end, we’ll prioritize time for social times together, including some online sessions for those who aren’t local. As of February 2024, we have one lot (#2) available.  Many relevant questions are addressed in our FAQ and Timeline documents.

Your next step, if interested, is emailing us or filling out the website form and starting this important time of mutual learning and exploration.
